I haven't asked for prayer lately and there are many of us wondering just who is need of prayer. I am sure there are all of us. My first request is prayer for my new great grandchild born yesterday in Colorado. It is a boy!!! Parents are Jeni and Eric and their two-year-old daughter calls herself a big sister!!! So I am asking for prayer for the whole family, now with two precious little ones. Second, and prayers I have offered up to our Heavenly Father nearly every day for days now and I hope you will pray for them too. Their need and want is to adopt a baby. I know they will make excellent and loving parents but their want has continued for almost two years. I believe God has His own timing but He would appreciate more prayers from us. God gave Dean and I five children and we loved and enjoyed every one of them. NOw they are all grown into still loved and precious. Another needing prayer is a long-married couple with cancer to pray over every day. I know there are many needing God's help. I am in assisted living and I know many here know are would appreciate love with prayers every day. So I am asking you, and even your families to talk to God about these people and others, I am sure even God will appreciate your caring for them. I thank you so very much. YOu can pray for my hands too, my fingers are really bad and need a spanking I guess. They won't behave!! Much love, Betty G

My days are usually "do nothing" days but Saturday Daughters Betty and Bobbi and Grandson Doug, came to move furniture in my living room. It was Bobbi's idea so they got busy and opened up more room and opened up the view of the big window. It is so much brighter now and One of the these days I will get my books and papers and clutter organzied so I can find things. Right now I constantly lose things and papers and notes are my biggest headache. Bobbi was here for two days and she is such a helper, but it isn't easy for her to drive here from LaCrosse every weekend, so I really appreciate her trips here. Of course she will be here more often now that the weather is getting better. Betty lives close and works close also, and comes often and is such a helper. I don't know what I would do without her. It's just nice also to have her here. Of course Doug never stops doing things for me. This past week he changed my tv by getting me a 32" so I can read it. Now he plans to hang it on the wall. That of course is only one thing, Doug keeps so much going for me. Of course the biggest chore for him is keeping my computer going and the printers. Right now I am trying to get him to bring his guitar and sing for me. He is very good but he is very busy. The weekend went so fast, and the kids worked so hard, I appreciated every thing they did and thank them so much. Now let's see how much I can get done this week putting stuff where it should be and not so scattered around. I am so messy!! Take care, Spring is coming!! Betty G

I'm doing okay. I banged my body in a fall about three weeks ago, hurting my right side, especially my right hand and arm. A lot of pain but the xrays say no breaks or bruises so all is well. That's enough of my troubles. People out on the go are fighting the cold and ice and piles and piles of snow. Our trees are full of what looks like pretty snow balls. Be careful, you don't want one to come down on you, they are solid ice! Of course I am thankful I am inside, warm and comfortable. And I hope you are too! Betty G

Today is Sunday, the Lord's Day. As usual I cannot attend church but I have hope one of these days I will be okay in health and can go again. What I am thinking of today is having a testimony. I know this isn't a common thing but it certainly is important to the family to know of your testimony. Dean's was added to his obituary so I am writing here to be sure I never lose it. He first wrote of hearing of Jesus in church, then prayers by others for his salvation. Then he says, "I asked Christ into my heart August 29, 1981. I had never experience such a release of burdens off my shoulders. It is my prayer that anyone who does not know God will come to know Him, either by my witness or some way so they can experience the peace that knowing christ can give." I can testify that after Dean's conversion he was changed and was truly saved in all his actions and words. I am adding my testimony written when Dean wrote his and I am so thankful we both wrote them. I was raised in church, actually all my life, and with Christian family. Yet, I had come to realize I wasn't really saved for Heaven. These are my words, "One night in October, 1977, I surrenderd my entire being to the Lord Jesus Christ. The next morning when I discovered my thoughts and desires were completely changed, I knew indeed I was a new person. Even the sun shone brighter in the kitchen windows. I was attending a liberal church so my help came from other sources, Christian radio, God's Word, and prayer. God answered my prayers continually and I do believe He grounded me firmly by answering nearly every request I made." After Dean's conversion we were both baptized by Baptist and friend, Pastor Chuck Reagan. "I have continued in a love for Jesus and His Word." Much love, Betty G

All morning it has snowed hard. I don't get outside so I just watched it from the windows. I 2 p.m.now and the snow has stopped, for now anyway. No sunshine and that I miss. I'm not sure of the temperature but you can be sure it is cold! Christmas is surely to be white and is almost here. I'm not ready. I don't have all my cards out and certainly don't have gifts ready. Since I have gotten up in years I see Christmas so different. I can't find Santa Claus with any connection. We seem to have lost the truth that Christmas in really the birthday to homor our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. So why substitue Santa? And there are Santa's elves, make believe slaves actually, making toys, taking care of deer and the sleigh, and all other parts of Santa's job. Still, as everyone says, it's for the children. I will admit in my younger years I would have agreed, but I have to say, we should be true to the truth. I only hope people will agree what the truth of Christmas really is! Blessings, Betty G

It's time I reminded everyone to save and send their used postage stamps from envelopes and even packages and mail them to STAMPS FOR THE WOUNDED /LIONS P.O. BOX 297 DUNN LORING, VA 2202. This is not a new request. Wounded veterans really do make good use of these stamps that are usually just thrown away. I have been sending them for years as fast as I can collect an envelope full and I always get a thank you card. It is such a little thing to do and yet I know it is appreciated..... Betty G
