Easter we didn't get to church. We are both slow and not able to get going. We did get to Betty's for Easter dinner. She had a houseful and it was nice to see everyone.
Someone this weekend asked about Jesus' baptism. I can only give the Scripture that explains it.
First it says water baptism does not save us. It only identifies us, who we are. WAter baptism is under the law.
Romans 3:28. "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."
The big question was what does baptism into His (Jesus') death mean?
Romans 6:3. "Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into His death?""Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life."
v10. "For in that He died, He died unto sin once, but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God"
I John 4,10." Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be the payment for our sins."
I John:15. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he is God."
I think surely soneone can explain this better that I can. So I hope someone will. And I thank you.
