Jeremiah 13 has God speaking to Jeremiah that he is making the country, Israel, good for nothing.
And He tells him why. Pride, evil people, serving and worshipping other gods, they refused to hear His Word. God gave dire warning, He would make the leaders drunk, even the prople of the nation. Then the terrible words, He would dash the fathers and sons together without pity, nor spare them or have mercy, but He would destroy them.
Verse 15. "Hear ye, and give ear, be not proud, for the Lord has spoken."
Verse 16. "Give glory to the Lord your God, before He causes darkness and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains---"

Read on through Jeremiah, this terrible time goes on for a long time. Doesn't this read like our own country? Jesus and prayer is banned just about every place, evil is granted the right to be lawful, pride goes before the poor and the honest person, other gods come first in the law of the land, and so many people are drunk with liquor and drugs. What must we look like to God??
Why would He spare us as a people???

Sorry this is so drastic but it is what I am reading today. Jeremiah was right this time and since we fit God's definition of an evil land, I see our land in the same situation today. We need to stop condemning other nations and look at our own.

This is God's Earth and we are looking at the enviroment for salvation, all wrong, we should be looking at repentance and giving God control.

Hopefully tomorrow's reading will be better !!
