SOME LITTLEREAD NEWS THIS WEEK

I am convinced a lot of the news that we should read just doesn't get printed, or broadcasted, by many news outlets.

Like this one. 60,000 people meet and pray in New York's Times Square!! Who expected to read this???
For one hour, Sunday, a Christian rally was held by more than 200 churches to pray for the city and for the nation.

Then there is a book, "Nothing Created Everything," that is being used by its author, Ray Comfort, from New Zealand.
Comfort is stirring up atheists and agnostics with his question, "Do you believe nothing created everything?"
He asked it they really" believe a bird, a flower, and tree, could be created from nothing" and he gets answers of no. Then says they must believe in intelligent design.
Comfort says that" 61% of U.S. professors in biology or psychology said they were atheists or agnostics. " And "atheistism has doubled in the last 20 years among 19 to 25 year olds." He says this is a result of "brain washing."
"This fall, Comfort plans to take hs message to top college campuses across the nation."

From Wednesday, another czar in Obama's kitchen cabinet of czars, Kevin Jennings of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, has conservatives up in arms.
Jennings has a "record of working to end bullying and discrimination in schools." In 1990, " he founded th Gay,Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, which now has over 40 chapters at school nationwide."
That sounds okay, but critics say, his agenda means "safe for homosexuality."
I canot know how this will result in work in school, but this item you can judge for yourself.

Thursday, there is another czar story. Obama's "science czar, John Holden," has in the past "suggested government-mandated population control , in the U S, against welfare recipients."
"Involuntary sterilizations" and "green abortions," to be accepted.
All at public expense.

One more, though there is sooooo much in the news, it is impossible to keep it straight and up to date.
Yesterday, CNBC.com, reported , "It's almost Armageddon if the Japanese and Chinese don't buy our debt."
Tiger Management said, I don't know where we could get the money. I think we've let ourselves get in a terrible situation and I think we ought to try to get out of it."
"If the Chinese and Japanese stop buying our bonds, we could easily see inflation go to 15 to 20%. It's a question of who will lend us the money if they don't. Imagine us getting ourselves in a situation where we're totally dependent on those two countries. It's crazy."

Political and even local news, are one of my biggest interests. Locally, we just had in state legislature a fight from dietitions or some local gov politicals, I'm not sure who started it, but the goal was to stop nutritionists from doing their thing. They lost and since I know nutritionists are doing wonders, I am happy for them.

I would certainly like to hear some more good news.

BIRTHDAYS

We had two birthdays to party for Sunday with lunch in DaughterBetty's yard. Great Grandchildren, Melanie is 14, and Amanda is two, both the same day.
Melanie is quite grown up, Amanda was having a ball. She seems to have really grown up just lately, her vocabulary is amazing. MommyLaura started reading books to her when she was an infant and she loves books more than anything. Laura would hold her on her lap, Amanda would hold her toes and stay still for as many books as Laura would read. Amazing to me.

Everyone had a great time. The little ones were busy on the swings and the slide. Great Granddaughter Jaelyn, not quite two, is so very tiny, unbelievable how she would climb up the ladder and whiz down the slide and run back to go up again!

We've had summer weather for almost two weeks now so the day was perfect.
A wonderful party!!
