MAY DATES

May is a busy month for us but some dates are doubling up.

May 3 - Peg's birthday. She will be moving into a new house. Right now she is fighting vertigo.

May 4 - My brother's 74th birthday. He is my only sibling. It is also his and Vivian's wedding anniversary. Blessings to you both.

May 9 - Bobbi graduates, magna cum laude, and it is Lorraine Turner's birthday down in Florida.

May 10 - Mother's Day. My mother was buried on Mother's Day, 1935, in Memphis. This year we will be away.

May 11, Bryant's birthday. He will be 52. Happy birthday!

May 17 - 64th anniversary for Dean and I. We will be away for this date, too.

We will attending Bobbi's graduation party this month.

Now, did I miss anyone or anything? Please let me know. I have a bad habit of losing notes that I write to myself!!!

Thanks,

Betty G

ANOTHER HONOR FOR BOBBI

Daughter Bobbi is receiving the Pax et Bonum Award at the Rose Awards at Viterbo University this month.
This is a very high honor from Viterbo. The Pax et Bonum Award (Peace and All Good) is given from time to time in recognition of demonstrating the Franciscan values of quality service, respect, hospitality, stewardship, and joy, among the constituencies of Viterbo University.
She is being honored with her co-worker.

Shouldn't have to tell you we are very proud of Bobbi.

LAUGHS WITH WISDOM

Steve Forbes was on Huckabee tonight talking about Obama telling the Europeans that the USA is arrogant, taking away the fact that we are the strongest country in the world even with our debt.

Mr. Forbes said Obama should take a rest at Camp David with a bunch of Ronald Reagan tapes to learn what a real president does.

Huckabee's audience loved it.

That gives me a chance to post some of Reagan's comments, showing his wisdom with his laughs.

"Here's my strategy on the Cold War. We win, they lose."

"I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the US Congress."

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book."

"Of the four wars in my lifetime none came about because the US was too strong."

"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

"No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women."

"I've laid down the law, though, to everyone from now on about anything that happens: No matter what time it is, wake me, even if it's in the middle of a Cabinet meeting."

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

APRIL DATES AT OUR HOUSE

Happy belated birthdays to great granddaughter Kyra and grandson Chris. We will celebrate both birthdays when whey come Easter weekend.

Great granddaughter Tabitha was born April 4, so Happy Birthday Tabby, sweet 16!!
Two of our children became Christians in April, Vada, the 9th, and Bryant, the 12th. We praise God for them, they are precious children.

Grandson Russ' birthday is the 21st. Since he moved to New York we don't get to see him very often.
Granddaughter Vada Jane's birthday is the 22nd. She is named for her mother and me.

I have to ask, did I miss anyone? Please let me know.
Bobbi: Chris and Kyra's birthday is the 2nd, not the 4th.
MrEddie: Happy late birthday, too. It was April 1.
Thanks,
Betty G
